Subwoofer Fun
Well, some fun at least. I guess JL Audio left the patent on the W6 Series subs open. So thieis company did a fairly good job at knocking them off. Too bad they cant spell. Bastards....
And these bad boys, JL 12W7s are going into the cab of my current DD (not mine but using it) which is a 2005 Hemi Ram (Chipped exhaust, intake, and we are about to cam it) I cant wait to hear it with em in. He has JL XR Components and H bunch of Kenwood speakers right now, all hooked through his JL 1000 Amp. Fricken loud as sin. The 10s we are going to put in the Z in the near future. Just have to make a knock ouff of Chris' boxes. (Anyone have a blueprint for me on that one??) Thats all. Have a nice day....

Re: Subwoofer Fun
Ahh yes, the SPL w6v1 knockoffs. I have read alot about them, but not any reviews. They certainly do look like a carbon copy, even down to the t/s parameters.
Have you got a chance to listen to them yet? As for a knockoff of chris's boxes, just glass them, it'll be alot easier imo. http://www.zmods.org/forums/showthread.php?t=192 Just glass the sides up a couple inches further, and make the ring for a 10 instead of an 8

Re: Subwoofer Fun
Yeah, I am gonna go get some MDF today for the trucks box. Mine is gonna have to wait. My suspension just became more important to me, lol. (Its decent now, but I want better)
And I need to find a good amp anyhow. I think we are going to go with the Hifonics, Zeus 9000 should push those too enough. 300 RMS to each 10? Plenty I do beleive. |

My hifonics nx750d has been running at a .67ohm nominal load since last february, and still's going strong. Does it put out rated power? Not close. Even hifonics is confused about the rating of the amp (box says 750rms, manual says 700rms) Are the amps still a good deal for the price you can get them for? I'd say yes |
